There are many misconceptions about Windows 7 that may warrant clarification, so this article is meant to be a guide for anyone confused by Microsoft's latest product release. ## PC Operating Systems sort of appear out of nowhere, because nobody was quite sure when they would be released, and their development happened behind closed doors. But I know for a fact that the final Windows 7 release date was scheduled for November 2009. However, Microsoft released it one month early in order to make up for the delay in release to the public. This is actually one of several indications that Microsoft may have gotten ahead of itself with this release. It's like they thought they could do better than Vista, and it would be better because, according to Microsoft, "Windows 7 is designed to work instantly out of the box; there's no need to spend time making painful updates". (Why would anyone want to spend time making "painful updates" when our time is limited?)## *NOTE THIS IS AN ANCIENT LINK* HOWEVER IT IS STILL WORKING FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO USE IT!* It is also worth noting that Microsoft (unlike Apple) delivers operating system upgrades right through its website for free, whereas you need to buy another version of the Operating System if you have bought a new computer. This means that Microsoft can keep an eye on its customers and needs more than any other operating system company.
